Well, I think that every community has certain issue that they face at any given time. One major issue can be acculturation between the American and the Bukharian culture. Between the traditional and the more modern people. Another one could be the cultural clash between the older and the younger generations. Teens might be at risk for involvement in drugs and school drop outs. people might experience poverty worse than before. Basically I think that our community is facing similar conflicts or problems as any other immigrant community coming to America. To solve them is a long process and there are different ways of doing that. Most importantly people should speak about it to a professional, seek the help they need and be open to change etc. Please feel free to add other ideas.

Hello SimpleJew,

Thanks for letting everyone know that I am no longer employed by that agency as a social worker. I was employed strictly through a domestic violence grant and by the end of June this program is no longer funded therefore the agency could not keep me there. Also, my commitment to answering questions on boojle does not include replying to insults. I am not interested in having petty insignificant arguments. This is not what I am here for. I will share my professional opinion and if you have something specific that you want to address regarding my comments you may do so. Saying that I am “shallow” or any other remarks you may have is not only disrespectful on your part but it also does not tell me what part of my answer you disagreed with. Next time please be more specific and I will reply as best as I can to your comments. Furthermore, just to clarify, I believe that this is a place where people come for help and get advice, to make comments on the topic, get a referral, or other services as deemed appropriate. However, it is not a place for members like you to analyze or disrespect me in anyway. Although I am the moderator, this forum is for and about its members not the social worker. I hope that in the near future you would be able to ask appropriate questions and do it respectfully.
