Default Greetings to you all

Hi all!

Good to be part of the community.
I have been studying the real estate industry for quite some time now mainly in US and Canada.

Still there's a lot to figure out. How the Real estate agents (viz Realtors) carry out their duties and what expectations they have from the world wide web.

Once again it's good to be part if this community.

Cheers!
Suzanne

Welcome to the forum Suzanne. The real estate market is all up in the air but I have noticed that the prices haven’t fallen in New York City area. I have been monitoring the price in my neighborhood and the prices on homes haven’t really declined compared to the rest of the country. On top of the suffering real estate market the biggest financial institutions that have been around for decodes are now suddenly going out of business. I don’t know where we are going to be in the next few months. We could all be out looking for jobs and no one will care about buying a house.

Welcome Suzanne!

Please do share your opinions about the housing market and your studies.

MadisonBoy, the priced did not seem to go down, mainly because every seller is holding on their properties, riding out the storm. There was a slight decline. But it seems the only ones that sold are the once that really needed the money now. This realestate bouble had cost us dearly. The whole economy is crashing down because of the subprime and housing market.

You are right but how long can someone hold out. Regular people aren't able to afford a home these days.

Actually, to be more accurate, there have been some foreclosures in Queens, Brooklyn and Bronx locations.

The highest is in the Bronx and is not limited to houses, but includes co-ops and condos. Second one is in Queens and then in Brooklyn.

Manhattan holds the strongest since foreign investors come from other countries and buy the property at the price given that is why the prices aren't falling in our city.

And it's also become easier for foreign investors to buy in the city, since the dollar is weak and they buy in Euros, etc, so they may actually get a lower price that before.
